Electric Vehicle (EV) Revolution

Here I present my summary of Electric Vehicles

The benefits of Electric Vehicles

Nowadays, all the car problems can be fixed with a mechanic, but in the future you will see all the car’s control system with a tablet, and the car itself will tell you what and where is the problem, you will send a patch through internet and the repair will be done. All the automobile industry started in 1913, with Henry’s Ford first automobile assembly line. Most of the modern industries contribute to the manufacture of cars, rubber for tires, copper for wires, steel for the frame or electronic parts. A very important change is the number of moving parts between a diesel engine and an EV drivetrain, from 2000 parts to about 20 parts.

The future of EV industries

Many of the companies that were dedicated to a determined part of the actual diesel engine will have to adapt to electric drivetrains or other parts of Evs. Nowadays some auto manufacturers are working with electronics components, also the garages and mechanics will change, because fewer moving parts means that is easier to repair and replace. Engineers will increase, because autos will be more like computers with wheels, and many of this engineers can work from anywhere. And the number of charging stations, garages and mechanics will increase and change. Most of electric car batteries use cobalt and nickel, but 60% of the cobalt is obtained from the Democratic Republic of Congo, the price of nickel has increased by 25% and cobalt by 59%, this makes that electric car engines will be more expensive. BYD’s (Build Your Dreams) make a battery that doesn’t need nickel or cobalt, only lithium, iron and phosphate, these batteries can carry 50% more cells, can reach a range of 400km with only one charge, can be recycled and last 1M km.
